The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Omane Aboagye has planted a commemorative tree on the fourth edition of the Green Ghana Project at Juaben with assembly members, staff members and residents.

Mr. Omane calls on residents to come together and commit to the planting and growing of at least 150 thousand trees for a greener tomorrow for the survival of generations unborn.

This year’s edition of the Green Ghana Day which offered opportunity for all Ghanaians to contribute to making the country greener and healthier future was marked under the theme “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow”.

At the Juaben New Assembly Block on Friday, June 7, 2024, Security personnel, Heads of the various Department and Agencies as well as staff of the Juaben Municipal Assembly joined the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) on an exercise to commemorate the 2024 Green Ghana Day.

He said the project was an initiative of the government of Ghana as part of an aggressive national afforestation and reforestation programme to restore the lost forest cover of Ghana and to contribute to the global effort to mitigate climate change.

The MCE encouraged residents of Juaben to support the planting and nurturing of the 4,100 seedlings provided in all the 19 Electoral Areas to ensure they flourished in the various homes and communities for the realization of the goal of greening the entire country.
