In line with the President of the Republic vision of fostering spiritual unity and national gratitude, the Juaben Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, 1st July, 2026 held its maiden National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day observance. The event took place at Juaben Methodist Church at exactly 9:00 am.
The day, designated by the President as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is aimed at seeking divine guidance and expressing appreciation for national blessings with the theme “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want”,this inaugural ceremony brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders within the municipality.
The program featured interfaith prayers, thanksgiving messages and calls for unity across political, religious and traditional divides. Participants were encouraged to carry the spirit of gratitude and renewal beyond the event into their daily lives and leadership roles.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Juaben, Mrs. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, emphasized the importance of national reflection and collective thanksgiving as a foundation for sustainable development and peace.
She continued that we should put politics aside and come together to build the Ghana we want and also advised the general public to make our environment clean to avoid the ongoing flooding situation in Juaben Municipality.
Very Rev. Felix K. Nyarko from Juaben Methodist Church gave the sermon whiles Bishop Joseph Wayo from Grace Fellowship Church, Pastor Robert Ayitey and Chief Imam from Juaben Muslim Community led prayers for the nation, Asanteman and Juaben. Pastor Martin Ossom Boafo gave the closing prayer and benediction.
Attendees included religious leaders from Local Council of Churches, the Chief Imam, Honorable Assembly Members, Heads of Departments and Agencies, Staff, Students from various schools etc.
