Juaben MCE Cuts Sod For 24-Hour Market

The Juaben Municipal Assembly has cut the sod for the construction of a 24-hour market at Juaben, the capital town of the municipality in the Ashanti Region.

The project which would be funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) is expected to be completed within 24 to 36 months.

The market complex will feature a banking hall, storage facilities, a fire station, a clinic, a day -care center, a police post and other essential amenities to support trading activities.

Addressing the Chiefs and residents during the ceremony, Mrs. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), commended traditional authorities, Consultants and other stakeholders for their cooperation and support in ensuring the successful commencement of the project.

She noted that the release of land, provision of the required documentation and technical guidance in selecting the project site were critical to the implementation of the initiative.

The Akwamuhene of Juaben Traditional Council, Nana Hyiawu Agyemang who represented Daasebre Nana Otuo Siriboe II, the Paramount Chief of Juaben expressed his gratitude to the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for this memorable project.

He also thanked the MCE for lobbying more projects into the municipality. He therefore appealed to the Contractor not to waste much time on this project as it has been ensured by the consultant to be completed before the 2028 general election.

The dignitaries who attended the program were: the Queen Mother of Odumase who represented Nana Akosua Akyaamaa IV, Queen Mother of Juaben Traditional council, Nananom, Clergy, Chief Imam representative, Zongo Chief, Dr. Stephen Lurimuah, Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of Department, Staff, Security Service, NDC party Executive etc.
