The Paramount Chief of Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Otuo Siriboe II, has commissioned a 75 by 100-sqaure-foot astroturf field for residents of Juaben.
The Chief of Juaben was very happy with the work done by the contractor and promised that he would make sure of a long-life span of the project.
Nana Otuo Siriboe II, in his speech said that the sod was cut on March 15, 2023, and the contractor promised him to finish the Astroturf in a year of which they delivered on time.
Nana Otuo Siriboe II, congratulated Ghana National Gas Limited for delivery on their promise to the people of Juaben.
Nana said, even in these difficult times for many companies in the country, Ghana Gas managed to construct this Astroturf and really appreciated them for making this possible for the people of Juaben and must be commended.
The Paramount Chief said the contractor even started the work whilst waiting for board approval from Ghana National Gas Limited.
Nana Otuo Siriboe II thanked his people for the patience and the trust and assured them that the project was done for the youth to be able to develop their God given talents.
The Paramount Chief said the youth are the reason why this Astro turf was constructed. “We want to make sure that their God given talents will be developed. Somebody can become a Maradona and come from Juaben. We can have the likes of Michael Essien, Didier Drogba among others, so this turf will be a place of transformation to showcase your talents.”
Nana said he would be so grateful to see a world class footballer who hits the limelight, and they will say he is from Juaben. In today’s world, it is not only education that will take you forward but sports also can make you rich.
Nana Otuo Siriboe II, assured the youth that once he lives, anything that he can do to help them develop their God given talents, he will pursue, and that the youth should move away from bad traits and certain acts that will be detrimental to society.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Omane Aboagye, in an address said it is the dream of the President that the youth of this country will get befitting turfs to train so Ghana can develop talents.
“It is possible that we build a strong foundation of sports in the various communities”, he added. The MCE appealed to the Ghana National Gas Limited Chief Executive Officer Dr. K. B. Asante to come to their aid and complete the ongoing Astroturf at the Methodist School for the people of Juaben.
He commended the Omanhene Nana Otuo Siriboe II, for his leadership qualities and support to the people of Juaben and thanked Ghana Gas and the contractor for a good work done.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited, Dr. K. B. Asante in his speech said sports is the reason why we have gathered here today, which is an Astro Turf beautifully done by Wembley Sports Complex.
Dr. K.B. Asante said this sports facility constructed is not only for just entertainment and physical well-being but rather we will use this Astro Turf for communal well-being or cohesion that brings togetherness.
The CEO is of the view that besides entertainment and physical well-being, the facility will bring everybody together to form communal cohesion.
He said that Ghana Gas as a company will continue to support the various communities through Sports, Education, Health and Water and Sanitation.
In attendance were Traditional leaders of Juaben, Heads of Departments/Units, Clergy, Security Personnel, among others.
