Chief Justice His Lordship Kwasi Annim Yeboah has commissioned an ultra-modern circuit court at Juaben in the Ashanti Region.
The facility, situated at the Municipal capital of the municipality is funded by the District Assembly Common fund.
The new court complex comprises of borehole, solar power, generate sets, court room and bailiff room. The rest were Judges chamber, ICT room, docket room, registrar office, secretary room, staff bungalows and other facilities to enhance the delivery of quality justice.
The Chief Justice His Lordship Justice Annim Yeboah on the other hand thanked the traditional authorities especially Daasebre Nana Otuo Sereboe II for releasing land for the project as well as the Municipal Assembly and the Contractors for a good work done. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President of the republic of Ghana for his priority attention to addressing the infrastructure needs of the judiciary. The provision of court houses and accommodation for Judges across the country is simply unprecedented and it will perpetually strike a chore of appreciation in the honour of the judiciary.
His Lordship humbly entreat Daasebre and Nananom to desist from addressing criminal matters in their places and allow the laws to apply when people are found wanted especially in cases that cannot be settled.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah applauded the Chief Justice for uplifting the judicial service and the judiciary at large. He mentioned of ultramodern residential accommodation for the Appeal Court and also has witnessed the Chief Justice commissioned about six (6) court in the region in less than two months.
The Ashanti Regional Minister continued that the region is fortunately the beneficiary of a number of infrastructures of the judicial service and therefore the region is very grateful to him.
Daasebre Otuo Sereboe II, the Chairperson for the inauguration praised the Chief Justice for his immense contribution towards the project.
Nana therefore urged the court staff and the judges to take good care of the facilities at both the court house and the judge’s bungalow and also appealed to His Lordship to use the judicial internal generated fund (IGF) for regular maintenance to prolong its life span.
Daasebre ended his speech by appealing to the judges to administer justice without fear and favour.
