In a major effort to improve sanitation, health and reliable access to clean water, the Juaben Municipal Assembly has commissioned a mechanized borehole at New Koforidua M/A JHS premises on 3rd June 2026 to boost water access in the community.

Delivering the keynote address, the MCE for Juaben, Mrs. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu noted that the borehole is expected to provide a reliable source of clean water for students and the surrounding community, addressing their water needs.

She continued that she has already commissioned many boreholes in the same community and other communities within Juaben Municipality while several others are slated for commissioning in the coming days.

Mrs. Ansu urged the students and residents to take ownership of the facility to ensure sustainability, citing poor maintenance culture as a challenge for public projects.

The Chief of New Koforidua, Nana Sarpong Kumankuma I, expressed his appreciation to the MCE and the Assembly for the project. He assured the MCE that the facility will be properly maintained and effectively utilized for the benefit of the pupils as well as the residents.

This short ceremony was attended by the former MCE for Juaben, Hon. Omane Aboagye, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Dr. Stephen Lurimuah, the Municipal Education Directorate, Heads of Department from Juaben Municipal Assembly and some NDC Constituency Executives.
