My first day at school is observed every year in the various basic schools across the country to mark the beginning of each academic year.
The objective of the visit by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and Education officials to the various schools in the municipalities is to monitor enrolment of fresh pupils as school resumes for 2022/2023 academic year.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Juaben Municipal Assembly, Mr. Omane Aboagye gave his words of encouragement and also welcomed the newly admitted pupils at basic schools especially kindergarten and primary pupils.
He advised them to take their books serious and learn hard so that they can pass their exams well and enjoyed the free SHS policy introduced by the NPP government.
Mr. Omane praised his government on policies and intervention introduced to resource the education sector such as school feeding programme, capitation grant, introduction of new curriculums for basic schools, restoration of teacher training allowance, incentives for teachers at remote communities among others geared towards creating jobs and improving the livelihood teachers.

The Municipal Deputy Education Director, Mr. Gustav Dagadu expressed his gratitude to the teachers in the various schools visited on how the pupils are disciplined. He therefore urged the pupils to be punctual and avoid lateness at school.
Some of the items they distributed to the pupils were assorted drinks, toffees and biscuits to the kindergartens to refresh them.
Others also received teaching and learning materials such as pencils, sharpeners, erasers and exercise books as a package of motivation from the Municipal Assembly.

The headmaster of Domakwai M/A Primary School, Mr. Anthony Bonsu thanked the MCE and his entourage and the Education officials for such motivation and also disclosed their problems confronting them in the education sector to the MCE and the Assembly for their support.
