
The Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region has held its first ordinary Assembly meeting of the fourth session of the third Assembly on 25th July, at the old Circuit Court Hall, Juaben.
The Presiding Member for the Assembly, Mr. Caleb Adu Agyemang who is also the Assembly Member for Kubease electoral area chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the programme, Mr. Omane Aboagye, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Juaben Municipal Assembly tasked the Assembly Members to be optimistic about the future of this young Municipality and serve their communities and country with a renewed commitment and dedication as they commenced this third Assembly according to their local Government act, 936 of 2016.

Mr. Omane said, the financial situation of the Assembly remains positive over the years, though there is still room for improvement. According to him, the projected internally generated funds for 2023 was One Million, One Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty-Five Ghana Cedis, Eighty-Nine Pesewas (GH1,113,625.89) and out of this the Assembly was able to generate Eight Hundred and Fifty-Eight Thousand, Three Pesewas (GH 858, 000.03) representing 77% and hope to step up efforts to do better this year. He therefore urged all Assembly members to assist the Assembly in its revenue mobilisation drive by encouraging the electorates to make prompt payments.

He continued that, the Municipality continues to make strides in the education sector, notably among the achievements is the selection of Juaben Municipality as part of the ten (10) nationwide Assemblies to pilot the STEM program in the Junior High School as a way to enhance science and Technology at the basic levels, yearly investment in the BECE mock examinations and the construction of schools to meet the needs of communities and the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination was smoothly conducted and hopeful that the candidates in the Municipality will get a good chance to enter Secondary schools to experience the free SHS of this Government.

The MCE abreast the members that through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and Internal Generated Fund (IGF), The Assembly has embarked on several developmental projects since its inception notably, renovation of no.1 unit classroom block with office and store at Islamic Primary school, completion of 2- bed room semi- detached teachers quarters, Drilling and mechanisation of no. 1 borehole with overhead thank and construction of 2 stand pipes, construction of 3-unit classroom pavilion and renovation of 6- unit classroom block with library, staff common room, office and store. He also mentioned the construction of 2 – bedroom semi – detached nurse quarters, Drilling and mechanisation of no. 1 borehole with overhead tank and construction of no. 2 stand pipes, construction of no.1 3 – unit self – contained nurses quarters, construction of 10- seater W/C toilet, Drilling and Mechanisation of no. 3 boreholes with overhead stand Drilling and mechanisation of no. 2 borehole and provision of Polytank stand, construction of 16 seater W/C toilet and 4 unit urinal facility, construction of CHPS compound and construction of a slaughter house.
