JUABEN MARKS GHANA’S 67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Juaben Municipal Assembly marked Ghana’s 67th Independence anniversary with a parade by ten (100 schools drawn from the Primary and Junior High as well as two cadet corps at a ceremony held at the Kubease Community Park at Kubease on March 6, 2024.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Omane Aboagye, in an address, touted Ghana’s democratic gains since independence, describing the theme for the celebration “Our Democracy, Our Pride” is indeed timely and appropriate. As we all know, democracy is a representative of government for the people, by the people and of the people as espoused by Abraham Lincoln.

He charged Ghanaians to reflect on the sacrifices made by the forefathers with their unwavering determination anchored on resilience and dedication to pave the way for freedom and democracy that has shaped the country into a sovereign nation, bound together by ties of unity.

Hon. Omane noted that Ghana’s democracy offers a platform that accommodates various voices and perspectives, fostering strength and resilience with a clarion call on all residents of Kubease and its environs to embrace the cultural diversity that enriches the identity of Ghanaians.

The MCE appealed to Ghanaians to remain vigilant in safeguarding the democratic values that defines the nation by fostering a culture of tolerance, open dialogue, and respect for diverse opinions to strengthen the country’s democratic foundation.

A match past of school children climaxed the celebration with schools receiving awards for their performances in various categories including Primary, Junior High and cadet corps donated by the Royal Fun Club in Kubease

The NPP delegates in the Kubease electoral area also donated 1,000.00 books and pens to the participating schools which cost Gh¢ 2,500.00

In attendance were, The Municipal Coordinating Director, Dr. Stephen Lurimuah, Municipal Police Commander – H.S.P MR. Samuel Asare, Municipal Education Director – Phyllis Boateng, Clergy, Traditional Authorities, Security Personnel and the NPP Party Chairman.
