Juaben MCE Calls for Unity and Hard Work at 69th Independence Day Celebration

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu has called on residents of the municipality, particularly the youth, to embrace unity, discipline and hard work as Ghana marks its 69th Independence Anniversary.

Delivering the anniversary speech at Juaben Senior High School ,the MCE said the celebration offers an opportunity for Ghanaians to reflect on the sacrifices made by the country’s forefathers who fought tirelessly to secure freedom and sovereignty for the nation.

She explained that the theme for the celebration, “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” reminds citizens to renew their commitment to national development and work together to build a stronger and more prosperous Ghana.

According to Hon. Ansu, nation building requires collective responsibility, unity and resilience from all citizens.

The journey of nation-building requires unity, resilience and collective responsibility. Through discipline, innovation and hard work, we can build a municipality and a nation where prosperity is shared and hope is renewed,” she stated.

The MCE conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Juaben and encouraged residents to continue supporting government policies and development initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of the people.

She emphasized that prosperity can be achieved through responsible governance and strong partnerships between government, traditional authorities, the private sector and citizens.

Hon. Ansu assured residents that the Juaben Municipal Assembly remains committed to implementing policies and programmes that will improve the lives of the people.

She outlined several priority areas the Assembly is focusing on, including improving education infrastructure, enhancing healthcare delivery, supporting agriculture and local economic development, expanding road infrastructure and promoting youth empowerment.

She also urged students to take their education seriously, stressing that the future of Ghana depends largely on the dedication, discipline and integrity of the younger generation.

“Dear students and youth, you represent the future of Ghana. The sacrifices of our independence heroes must inspire you to pursue excellence, discipline and integrity in all that you do,” she said.

As part of activities marking the celebration, four outstanding students in the municipality were honoured for their academic excellence.

Two students who excelled in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) one male and one female were each presented with a television set, an undisclosed amount of money and an award pledge in recognition of their remarkable performance.

Similarly, the best male and female students from the Senior High School category were also presented with award pledges, an undisclosed amount of money and rice cookers to support them in their academic journey.

The MCE explained that the awards were aimed at motivating students within the municipality to work hard and strive for excellence in their studies.

The event was also attended by the representative of the Juaben Traditional Council, Nana Osei Busumuru, who represented Daasebre Otuo Siriboe II.

His presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between traditional leadership and local government in promoting development within the municipality.

Hon. Ansu further called on citizens to demonstrate patriotism by protecting public property, supporting development initiatives and working together to ensure peace and unity.

She concluded by urging residents of the municipality to renew their commitment to building a prosperous Juaben and Ghana as a whole.

“Together, with unity, hard work and patriotism, we can build a municipality and a nation where prosperity is shared and hope is restored,” she added.

The celebration at Juaben Senior High School brought together traditional leaders, assembly members, security services, teachers, students and residents of the municipality to commemorate Ghana’s independence.
