
The Municipal Chief Executive for Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Omane Aboagye has appealed to the residents of Domakwai not to take the law into their own hands when someone is offended.
The move according to the MCE was against the constitution hence to report the culprit to the appropriate quarters for the law to take its own course.
He made this appeal when the newly constructed Police Station at Domakwai in the Juaben Municipality was commissioned on 11th July, 2023. He said police station is much needed in every community as it helps reduce crime.
Mr. Omane described the Chief of Domakwai, Nana Nti Yeboah I as a visionary leader, dedicated and committed to towards the development of the area.
He ended his speech by pleading to the police service to make good use of the facility and do proper maintenance to motivate Philanthropist like Nana Nti Yeboah I to do more.
The newly constructed Police Station comprises of office for station officer, counter, male and female cells, washrooms, tables and chairs.
The Ashanti South Police Commander who represented the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Isaac Ken Yeboah applauded the Chief of the area, Nana Nti Yeboah I for single handedly constructed a police station for the community to reduce crime within the area.
He cautioned parents not to use police to deter the youth in the community since they are the best source of information to combat crimes in every community.
The Chief of Domakwai Nana Nti Yeboah I who was the project initiator gave thanks to the almighty God for making his dreams come through. He said the police station will benefit residents of Domakwai and their surrounding communities to help promote peace and unity.
Nana Nti Yeboah, I made special appeal to the police personnel not to use their uniforms to intimidate the civilians and be friends with them so that they can confidently be informed and gather intelligence to enable them discharge their duties with ease and also advised the residents to comply with any decision that comes out when their relatives find themselves at the police station for proper settlement.
Nana Osei Busumuru the Apagyahene of Juaben who represented Daasebre Otuo Sereboe II, Omanhene of Juaben Traditional Area advised parents on behalf of Daasebre to talk to their children on bad behaviors that will lead them to police custody.
Nana Apagyahene also urged the police to avoid bribery when someone is offended. Daasebre Otuo Sereboe II supported Nana Nti Yeboah I with Three Thousand Ghana Cedis to his on-going construction of police quarters and community centre. He prayed that the almighty God should always give Nana Nti Yeboah I Strength, long life and prosperity to do more development in his community.
The occasion was graced by Mr. Osei Tutu, Assembly Member and Presiding Member for Juaben Municipal Assembly, DCOP Winful, Ashanti South Police Commander Bekwai, Chief SUPOL Kwaku Bempah, Ejisu Divisional Police Commander, Chief SUPOL Michael Ofosu Anim, Juaben District Police Commander. Others were Nana Ama Dankwaa, queen mother of Domakwai, Nana Antwi Mensah Bemprempeh III Chief of Kasaam, Nana Ataa Birago, queen mother of Kasaam, Nana Oppong Baah II Chief of Safo.
