COUNCIL OF STATE CHAIRMAN ASSURED JUABEN SHS FOR MORE DEVELOPEMENT

Daasebre Otuo Serebuo II, Omanhene of Juaben traditional Area and council of state chairman assured Juaben Shs for more developement.

Nana made this assurance through his speech at the 50th Anniversary Celebration with the theme ” 50 years of providing quality education the past, the present and the future”. He has built a girls dormitory for the school and is currently building a three storey boys dormitory building and has also provided one bus to support school programmes.

Nana promise that he will provide an ironing shed immidiately for the school to help the students iron their uniforms.

Daasebre narrated a little history about the school and how his uncle gave 50 acres of land for the biulding of the great school. He continued that the school was started as a girls tranning college and then transformed to a mixed secondary school and it was named Juaben Senior high school. Nana is proud that a boys house which wa house 1 at first has been renamed after his predecessor Nana Yaw Sarpong I house, house four(boys) has been renamed after Nana Otuo Serebuo II house and house three(girls) has been renamed after his late mother who was also a queen mother, Nana Akosua Akyaamaa II house.

The Council of state chairman applauded old students for their massive support and the unity among them should be continue to bring more development into the school. He acknowledged mr. Joseph Osei Owusu, MP for Bekwai and first deputy speaker of paliament and one of his linguist Nana Appiagyei Dankawo I for supporting the school with their wealth and knowledge.

Nana Otuo Serebuo II therefore thank the headmistress and her predecessors, teaching and non-teaching staff for making Juaben shs a great school. He urged the continuing students to learn hard and pass well so that they can continue their education and become great Asagyeforians in the future.

The Member of Parliament for Juaben constituency, Mrs. Ama Pomaa Boateng donated a sum of GHs 30,000 , 5 sewing machines for home economic students, 5 street light, 2 footballs and two set of jersey to support sport activities and a modern type piano for the school choral group. She also promise to provide internet and a set of computers to enhance teaching and learning in the school. The MP continue that she has established a TVET school which will be open soon for admisssion of technical and vocational students in the Juaben Munucipality.

The headmistress of Juaben shs, Mrs. Josephine Opuni Mensah-Boachie said ayekoo to the old students for how far they have supported the school with many project. She talked about the sick bay with beds provided by the 1988 year group, notice board by the 2009 year group, sport jersey, painting of ICT lab and restoring the water system on campus by the 1996 year group, sports trophy by Nana Apagyahene and co-uk, jugs and core maths books by 1984 year group, GHs 10,000 for painting of some blocks by 1999 year group. Hon. Joseph osei Owusu supported GHs 10,000 to the school national science and maths school team and 100 bags of cement to support the dinning hall project, dr. Nana Appiagyei Dankawo I has single handedly built two different ultra-modern summer huts for the school, Francis Owusu Achaiw also supported the school cardet with the modern cardet drum and all the old students are collaborating to build a dinning hall which will take a capacity of 4,000 students.
