In attendance to the meeting were Hon. Omane Aboagye (MCE), Stephen Lurimuah, PhD. (MCE), the Coordinating Director for Education, the Coordinating Director for Health and all heads of departments and units which comprised the Assembly’s Budget Committee.
The discussion begun with the review team admonishing the education and health departments of the Assembly to submit and take active role in the budget preparation process of the Assembly since a bigger chuck of the Assembly’s funds goes to them. They were also adviced to help in the revenue mobilization efforts of the Assembly. The review team also emphasized that the role of the Zonal Councils in revenue mobilization and the issuance of buildings and temporary structures permits was key to improve the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF). Mr. Vincent advised the Assembly to fully utilize the Zonal Councils when it comes to revenue mobilization.
