Juaben Municipal Assembly held the first ordinary meeting for 2025 on 14th July.
“According to the law, District Assemblies in Ghana lack the authority to arrest illegal miners. Instead, their role is regulatory and administrative, focusing on licensing and overseeing mining operations within their jurisdiction. Law enforcement agencies, such as the police and military, particularly through specialized task forces like Operation Vanguard, handle arrests and prosecutions.”

The assemblies focus on administrative and regulatory duties, while law enforcement handles arrests and prosecutions, as seen in initiatives like Operation Vanguard.”
