PROFILE OF HON. EUNICE OHENEWAA ANSU
Hon. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu is the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. A dedicated public servant and visionary leader, she was appointed by the President of the Republic of Ghana to spearhead the Municipal’s development agenda and ensure the success of the government’s efforts to reset the economy at the local level.
Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu was born on 30th June 1977. She hails from Juaben in the Ashanti Region and is the last of three siblings born to Mr. Alfred Prince Tawiah, a Military Man and Mrs. Beatrice Bekoe Boateng, a Businesswoman. She began her childhood education at Sunyani Ridge Experimental School and completed her basic education at Tamale Zogbeli Junior High School in 1993. She then gained admission to Sunyani Senior High School as a business student in 1994 and completed in 1996. As part of her ambition to fulfil her academic goals, she obtained her Accountancy Diploma in 2003 at Sunyani Polytechnic and upon completion pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing at Baptist University. Hon. Eunice then went further to complete an MBA in Marketing at KNUST in 2019.
Hon. Eunice in service to her nation completed her National Service at Sunyani Electoral Commission in 2004. She subsequently obtained employment to work as a Customer Service Officer at the Suame branch of National Investment Bank (NIB). Through diligence and dedication to her work, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu rose to become the Corporate Relationship Manager for the Sunyani Branch of National Investment Bank (NIB) in 2019.
During her working career, Hon. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu became the National Democratic Conference (NDC) Branch Executive in 2018. Having gathered enough experience, she became the NDC Constituency Executive for Juaben Constituency in 2022. This job made Hon. Eunice more effective in handling issues relating to democracy and governance, and thus she became the Parliamentary Candidate for Juaben Constituency in the 2024 Elections. Hon. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu is currently married to Alhaji Gariba Ibrahim with whom they have three children, two boys and one girl.
Armed with these achievements in life, Mrs. Ohenewaa Ansu’s working life received a major boost when she was handed down an appointment by the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as the first female Chief Executive of the Juaben Municipal Assembly in 2025. She was confirmed on 19th May 2025 with 24 Yes votes and 1 No vote out of 25 votes
Beyond her official duties, she is an advocate for youth development and entrepreneurship, believing that empowering the next generation is key to securing the future of the municipal. She continues to work tirelessly to ensure that Juaben becomes a model municipal in the Ashanti Region, delivering on the government’s vision of decentralization and local development.
